September signifies a fresh start to a new year. Embrace it.
The onset of September launches everyone into Success, more structure and more seriousness. Make sure that you are in control of ‘you’.
September is about looking forward to achieving potential. September resolutions are about ‘wants’. These resolutions are made from a place of positivity, tapping into a ‘can-do’ attitude and acknowledging that they can be achieved in the foreseeable future.
September resolutions are very different to New Year’s resolutions. New Year’s resolutions are often made from a place of guilt and negativity. They are more about sacrificing usually due to December indulgences.
So here’s how to embrace September and set the stage for success.
- Think in terms of a `whole life` perspective: health; work; finances; relationships.
- Identify one goal in each category that if achieved would make your life better.
- Name one or two action steps that you could commit to that would enable you to pursue your goals in each category.
- Craft a realistic plan with a goal toward achieving success from a whole life perspective.
Here`s an example: health – Commit to attending a fitness class on Tuesday and Thursday at 6:00pm; work – Research and join a networking group in your area of expertise and attend one event a month; finances – contact a financial adviser to learn your options to reduce debt and begin to build wealth; relationship – name the relationship that you need to improve upon and make it a priority in terms of quality of time.
When you commit to a whole life perspective then you stay in balance and adhere to the structure that will enable you to pursue your ‘whole life’ goals. The vision of the bigger goal – how you would like to be – is greater than the individual parts.
